A country girl through and through, Melissa Bajric is the fresh young face of Australian Country Music.

Born in the early 80's, Melissa was raised in a small village near the vineyard regions of the Hunter Valley in NSW. Melissa's love for country music shone through from the early age of five, when she chose to sing old time country songs at a school talent quest, while the rest of the bill was nursery rhymes.

For most of her life Melissa has been going to the Country Music Festivals at Poley's Place on the Barrington. As a young girl, this was the venue of her first public appearance as a singer, alongside her dad playing the guitar; and still today Melissa returns to Poley's to perform at most of the Easter and October long weekend hoedowns.

Releasing her debut album "Believe In Me" in 2001 was a dream come true, with 3 awards - "Best New Talent", "Junior Career" and "Paul McLeod Encouragement Award" all being presented in the following month at the Australian Independent Country Artists Awards in Sydney. In 2002 Melissa was also presented with the "Luke Newland Best New Country Talent Award" by the Australian Independent Country Artist's "Spirit of Tamworth" project.

In 2003 Melissa, along with Bob Easter and Graham Rodger released the popular duets album "Drovin' All Over". This album like "Believe In Me" received instant airplay right across Australia and has had continuous success.

The Tamworth Festival in January 2006 was the venue for the release of Melissa's latest album "Small Town Girl", and the Tamworth Festival in January 2007 saw her win a TSA award for the song "Little Girl In Me" from that album.

The year 2007 also saw the introduction of three times Queensland Musician of the Year, Lindsay Waddington, to Melissa's stage performances. Waddo now accompanies Melissa on all tours and shows that she performs at across the country, bringing his talent and unique sound into each of her performances.

All of Melissa's albums have been produced by multi award winning music producer Lindsay Butler, and during 2007 Melissa released her first video clip, "Luckiest Girl" from the "Small Town Girl" album, and this was produced by multi award winning video producer Ross Wood.

Melissa is now working on her next album which is anticipated being released later in 2008, but prior to that another video clip from her last album is in the pipeline, and the third single from the "Small Town Girl" album was released for world airplay in January.

This lovely young lady puts her heart and soul into everything she does, and her beautiful style is highlighted in the numerous self-penned songs that have won the hearts of her countless adoring fans.
