When she steps on the stage she's petite, elegant, and there's something captivating about her presence - you know the show you're there to see is going to be special. Melissa Bajric has spent her career perfecting her show, her sound, and the songs that she sings.
At just 16 years of age Melissa was signed to record on the Drover Music label, and that same year she stepped into the studio to work on her first album with renowned producer Lindsay Butler. This was to become the start of an association that would span more than a decade.
Melissa's debut album Believe In Me was released in 2001, and it yielded a variety of Best New Talent awards. In 2003, along with label co-artists Bob Easter and Graham Rodger, Melissa released the popular duets album Drovin' All Over; and in 2006 she released her third album Small Town Girl.
The year 2007 saw the introduction of nine times Queensland Musician of the Year, Lindsay Waddington, to Melissa's stage performances. This was also the start of the formation of The Melissa Bajric Show - her live touring show that includes her full band, guest artists and visual effects. The show has toured extensively and each year Melissa brings her show back home to the iconic Capitol Theatre in Tamworth during the Country Music Festival.
In 2008 Melissa began hitting the charts in a big way. This was the beginning of a long line of music videos climbing the CMC charts and saw Melissa debut on the international radio charts. Including film clips, an almost unheard of six singles were pulled from the Small Town Girl album and released to radio and television; each receiving high acclaim.
The release of Melissa's album 'Diamonds & Wine' saw her prove there is no stopping her success. She became a regular on the Country Tracks Chart, has had continuous industry acknowledgment in national awards, and her music videos have now achieved over 250,000 YouTube views.
Production is underway on Melissa's next album and in her words "I want to make sure every album I make is even better than the last". With every track on this album being written or co-written by Melissa and an impressive list of musicians, it's set to be just that.
Melissa is a TSA songwriting award winner, she's been a Top 10 finalist in the People's Choice National Musicoz Awards, and her name has been placed on the Country Music Wall Of Honour in Tamworth.
